A Check List for Using Essential Oils

When using essential oils you will find that certain oils work better on certain parts of your body than others. You can use this easy check list to discover where it is best to apply the different oils.

The different ingredients contained in essential oils are beneficial in easing a number of ailments. These include, raising your mood, easing tense muscles, improving your circulation. They can also help relieve respiratory problems like, hay fever, sore throats and blocked noses.

Your check list.

Hayfever: Chamomile and Eucalyptus.

Aching Muscles: Frankincense, Ginger, Sweet Marjoram and Rosemary.

Hair: Cedarwood, Cypress (oily hair), Rosemary (dry hair) and Tea Tree (dandruff).

Headaches: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint and Rosemary.

Stomach & Period pains: Aniseed, Clary Sage, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Marjoram.

Blocked Nose: Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Rosemary.

Upset Stomach: Ginger, Mandarin, Peppermint.

Sore Throat: Frankincense, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Tea Tree.

Oily skin: Cypress, Lemon, Mandarin, Tea Tree.

Dry Skin: Bergamot, Chamomile, Jasmine, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang.

Eczema: Chamomile, Geranium, Juniper Berry, Lavender.

Cellulite: Juniper Berry, Geranium, Rosemary.

An easy way to benefit from essential oils is to add a few drops to your moisturiser and or body lotion, then just rub this on the affected area.

You can also benefit from Aromatherapy by combining it with massage. By rubbing essential oils into your skin you allow the active ingredients to pass into the affected areas of your body. Massage combined with the oils will help to ease pain and stiffness and also improve your circulation.

The amount of aromatherapy fragrances on the market can make it feel like a daunting task finding the ones which are right for you. It is however, not to difficult to get the hang of picking the right ones.
